Practical information

FORMAT

The meeting will consist mostly of 25+5 min invited overview talks that will provide a broad review of a dusty topic.  There will be time for a handful of contributed talks that have a broad appeal.   Anyone wishing to present a poster will be welcome to do so and there will be an ample poster session most days and poster flash sessions for advertising posters.  This will be primarly an in-person meeting with limited remote viewing options available.

VENUE

The meeting will be held on the campus of the University of Arizona in the Student Union.  The University of Arizona is home to Steward Observatory, the Lunar and Planetary Laboratory and NOIRLab.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION 

To submit an abstract (1 maximum per participant), you need to do the following.

  1. Create a sciencesconf account, if you do not already have one, by clicking on the "Login" button on the top right of this page, below the banner. You will be able to choose a password and you will receive an email to activate your account.
  2. Once your account is validated, you should log-in.
  3. On the side-bar on the left, you will now see a section named "MY SPACE". Click on "My submissions". This will open a self-explanatory form to enter your abstract. Once it is done, you will receive a confirmation email.

From August 1st, we accept only poster submissions.

FUNDING SUPPORT

Depending on the level of external funding, we hope to provide some funding to support for a limited number of in person attendees.

SOCIAL

Openning Reception

The opening reception will be held Sunday evening at Gentle Ben's a local brewpub located right next to the Univ. of Arizona campus.  The reception is included as part of the registration where food is included, but not drinks that will be available for purchase.

Conference Dinner

The conference dinner will be held at the Pima Air & Space Mueseum and will include a tour of SOFIA airplane!  The conference dinner is optional and can be added during the 2nd step of the registration process.

Tours

There will be opportunities to tour nearby astronomical facilities including the UA Mirror Lab and Kitt Peak National Observatory.   These are optional and can be added during the 2nd step of the registraion process.

There are many other interesting historical, astronomical, and outdoor sites of interest and a list will be provided for self-guided exploration.
